Stetly for iPhone & iPad

📬 Need a Person?

Email [email protected] and include your WordPress version, your host, and what you saw. We usually reply within two working days.

💡 Most problems are one of three things: a WordPress version older than 5.6, a site that isn't on HTTPS, or a security plugin blocking the REST API.

🚀 Getting Started

What you need:

  • WordPress 5.6 or later — this is when Application Passwords were added.
  • Your site served over HTTPS. Stetly refuses plain HTTP, because your password would otherwise travel in the clear.
  • An account on the site with permission to publish.

Connecting your first site: open Settings, type your site address, and tap Connect via WordPress Login. Your site's own login page opens, you sign in there, and WordPress asks whether to authorise Stetly. Approve it and you're done.

Your normal password is never seen or stored by Stetly. WordPress issues a separate Application Password just for this app, which you can revoke at any time from Users → Profile → Application Passwords in wp-admin.

🔧 Troubleshooting

"Only HTTPS connections are allowed"

Your site address starts with http://. Most hosts offer a free certificate — enable HTTPS on your site, then reconnect. If your site already redirects to HTTPS, enter the https:// address directly.

The login page opens but nothing comes back

Some security plugins (Wordfence, iThemes Security, All In One WP Security) and some hosts disable the WordPress REST API or the Application Passwords feature. Look for a setting named "Disable REST API", "Disable Application Passwords", or "XML-RPC / REST hardening" and allow it for authenticated requests.

"Authentication failed" after it worked before

The Application Password was revoked, or the site moved. Open Settings, tap the site, and reconnect to issue a fresh one.

A photo upload stalls or fails

Large images on hosts without a CDN often hit the server's upload limits. Ask your host to raise upload_max_filesize, post_max_size and max_execution_time. Stetly already resizes photos on your device before uploading them.

My post is stuck in the queue

If a publish is interrupted, Stetly keeps the post and retries when you're back online. You can retry or discard it manually from the queue.

💳 Subscriptions

Managing or cancelling Pro

Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

I bought Pro but a new device shows the free version

Open the paywall and tap Restore, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

🔒 Privacy and Data

Stetly has no accounts and no servers, collects nothing, and stores your credentials only in the iOS Keychain on your device. The privacy policy spells out the details, and the terms of use cover subscriptions and liability.
